MLB Remembers Jackie Robinson

Today April 15, 2013 marks the 66th anniversary that Jackie Robinson made his historic debut with the Brooklyn Dodgers.  The impact of Robinson has been felt greatly in baseball.  He opened up the door for many other African American players to step foot from the negro leagues into major league baseball

Many current MLB players voiced there opinions on Twitter today.  Jimmy Rollins said "66 years ago today Jackie Robinson opened the door for all men to be able to play Major League Baseball! Thank you #Jackie42". One great thing that MLB started a few years back was to have every player in the league wear the number 42 to commemorate and respect what Jackie Robinson did for the sport.

MLB past and present has done many great things to remember the man that changed baseball forever. In the end, no one will fully understand the abuse and life he lived.  Only can we celebrate every April 15 what he did.
